here's the Frill Free Zone Newsletter November 15, 2025 |
In our quest for a piece of property where we can continue our dream of a home to age in place, as well as some fun things to do in our retirement, we've had a bit of a set back. November 15 2025We had our eye on a piece of property that was 27 acres, and the owner wanted $119,000 for it, which is well out of our league. After some back and forth, he offered to 'sever' a smaller chunk off it (seven acres) for a price of $75,000. Still out of our league, as this would leave us with around only $25,000 for a well, driveway, septic system and concrete for the slab on grade foundation we want to build on.We've decided to pull in our horns for a while, and put this on the back burner, and look further for the ideal piece of property. The plans for our single floor cottage house will still be in play, as we fine tune them, adjust what we want, and figure out the exact quantities of wood, in what dimensions, windows, ditto, concrete and so on. We will use our time wisely, planning for that perfect spot to build. Stay tuned for more!
