here's the Frill Free Zone Newsletter January 15, 2026 |
Well. Mid January and there is no snow left and the temperature is well above freezing. January 15 2025But don't let it fool you! It's not over yet. You're better off working indoors to clean and prepare the garden tools (unless you did that early in the fall). You can sort out the seeds, and order more from Canadian seed catalogues which will be up to date on what's available for sale. There could be new varieties to try, or heirloom seeds that are certain to grow in your area.Don't get too excited, there's still a lot of winter to get through, but you could grow some
micro-greens
just to satisfy that urge to get something started. These are quick to grow and have something to show for it, and are perfect to get your grow light schedule fine tuned. More here about
grow lights for seedlings and cuttings
which will help with your choices. For now, relax and settle in for a good read through of your catalogues - they have so much information on how to grow the plants most successfully. Be patient - spring isn't far off now.
