It's still too early in many areas to start your seeds, but you can still look at them, and decide how to fill the gaps. Some seeds are okay to store from year to year, but others (carrots, I'm lookin' at you!) are best bought fresh every year.

One of the best sources of seeds is to find heirloom varieties grown locally. That means they are fully adapted to your local conditions - even with climate change, they are still going to be the most well evolved to deal with issues like cool spring, dry spring, too much rain, drought and so on. Give yourself the best chance at success.

There are many Canadian seed catalogues that have a similar advantage.
