I know spring isn't far off, the crows are busy building their nests in the neighbors trees. Watch for the signs!

Blustery days, with squalls of rain are often what drives us indoors. Luckily, there are lots of things we can do there, including checking on our geraniums grown from seed . They're doing so well I might have to move them into the cooler set up in the kitchen to slow them down.

I love having several shelving units with grow lights on to have the ability to move things around as needed. I have a system for growing things in clay pots, or recycled take out containers, that fit into a bussing tub. More on that to follow, if you're interested.

Some plants, like lettuce, prefer brighter, cooler conditions for their best growth, so if you have lights set up somewhere, keep in mind the hardening off part of growing from seed.

You might be planning your potato crop. They'll need chitting. You can find out about planting seed potatoes here.

There are so many interesting things to do that don't involve the garden, which is a good thing when three feet of snow is still trying to melt. We know where all the low spots are in the yard! Drainage will be an ongoing project.
