Happy new year! It's a brand new year, just in its infancy, so do something with it. Don't make a resolution that you'll break in two weeks, but really decide what will make your life better. It might be your year to break out and make a difference.

I don't have plans except to finish my little greenhouse made of old windows. I've linked to that project before, if you haven't seen it, here it is again; Building the old-window greenhouse . If you have seen that page already, don't go and look again as nothing's changed. The whole project went on hiatus for the winter, and hopefully will get picked up again as spring weather arrives - maybe by the middle of March. I'll keep you posted.

I was busy re-creating my Mum's scone recipe, but making it gluten free , and surprisingly, it tastes pretty much identical to my childhood memories of these delicious comforting baked goods. If you've missed all those comfort foods because of a gluten intolerance, here's your chance to make something that gives you the mouthfeel, flavor and crispness you remember with fondness.

I'm eagerly awaiting spring, but making sure that my puppy doesn't suffer. Playing tug with a rope toy, or using a puzzle feeder or a stuffable toy for him has been my life saver. Raising a good dog is hard work, and twice as much when he's destined to be a service dog . His fetch (get it) and bring it and drop are really coming along, as well as leave it and never mind, two cues that are so important, especially as puppies won't leave things that they find on the ground automatically. It's a taught thing, along with teaching him to bring slippers. Now to see if he can differentiate between two family members shoes. Bet he can - he's so smart!
