Summer is such a fabulous time - if you're near a body of water, such as an ocean beach, a lake, or just a creek, you may be spending a bit of your time there. When you're not in the garden, that is.

The main things to concentrate on in the garden is watering, of course, but if you have hanging baskets, they tend to need a bit of extra care at this time. Keeping them going is more than just supplying the water daily, and fertilizer weekly. They may need a hair cut too. Redo your hanging-baskets with some easy chores. They won't take much time, and you'll be amazed at the results. This will take them well into the fall, keeping those blooms coming, the butterflies fluttering.
I'll be moving at the end of the month, so don't be surprised if I go silent for a while. Meanwhile, stay safe, garden in the cool of the morning and evening, and enjoy those fresh picked flowers and vegetables.
