here's the Frill Free Zone Newsletter October 01, 2026 |
Chilly mornings are just a foretaste of things to come. Time to button up the garden, giving one last turn to the compost, and maybe spreading some where it's needed. October 1 2026It's a great time to get down to the beach and stock up on seaweed . You can spread it on beds immediately and the winter rains will wash out the salt. Tip: gather the seaweed from the top of the beach where it's had a chance to get rinsed off. There are many options for mulch for every use. Find out which one will work for you and the crops you're growing. If you're in Canada, enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday, which is on Monday, October 12. I hope you can try your winter squash in your celebration!
