Oh, just loving these warmer days. The porch settin' is in full swing now, and soon it will be time to put out some hanging baskets full of lush annuals.

If you like to put together hanging baskets and fill your window boxes, it can sometimes feel like you're spending an awful lot to have a few flowers to decorate your home. But not spending that much feels like you're cheaping out.

There are a few ways to get economy bedding plants so you can have the look without breaking the bank. There is not a lot of outlay, so find out how to do it on the cheap.

If you need a cold frame, think about building one out of old windows . Everyone has at least a couple of windows gathering dust in the garage, so put them to work and have somewhere to harden off your tender annuals.

If you like to grow rosemary, why not grow it in topiary form with a live rosemary topiary . I will bet you'll love the zen process of pruning and tying with raffia onto a stake, and the pinching of all the branches as they bud out. Best of all you can use the pieces for cooking.

See you soon - hopefully in the garden.
