here's the Frill Free Zone Newsletter June 01, 2026 |
The end of May is passed and summer can no officially begin. If your weather is settled, and the saskatoons are in bloom, that's a sign that it's time to plant your vegetable garden. June 1 2026Your hanging baskets might not look like much yet, but give them a couple of weeks in the warm nights and they'll soon be overflowing with blooms. I like to plant seeds under lights for my baskets, which always have some kind of wave petunia, usually purple wave, but this year I've tried some supertunias, this one is called Blue Jeans. If you're fond of the excitement of growing things from seed, you might be a good candidate to start a gardening business . If planting gardens, landscaping, growing plants from cuttings or seeds is your jam, others who might not have the time for it, or the knack, will pay you to do it for them. Might be something to explore, yes? I've been planning another move, as one third of an acre is just not enough room for us. We might be growing willows if all falls into place by the end of the summer. The plan is to build ourselves one final home, all on one level. We'll see how it all pans out. In the meantime,
growing vegetables in pots
is a great option for anyone thinking of moving. That way you can take them with you, instead of leaving it all behind.
See you soon - hopefully in the garden.
